A private residence and Guest House in Randburg had an existing pond which had an algae problem. We met with the client, treated the pond for algea and discussed options to make the pond bigger and more visable from the house and entertainment area. We removed the existing liner and installed a bigger fiberglass pond. We cleaned the existing water feature so as not to have a repeat of the algae problem down the line. We added, water lilies, fish and marsh plants to create a natural balance in the pond. The pond however was still hidden due to overgrown plants around it. We removed most of the plants, lay a slate pathway to the pond and planted up the area with smaller plants that would not obscure the view over time. The client being very happy with the outcome is looking at installing another larger water feature in his front garden down the line.

A Bedfordview resident with an existing Koi Pond and fibre glass rock water feature called us out as the water feature was leaking and the pump was not working properly. We repaired the piping behind the feature, waterproofed the feature and repainted it to better blend in with the rest of her pond. We also planted a lavender hedge in front of her pump and filtration system to hide this from view but still leaving it accessible for maintenance.

A beauty salon in Bedfordview was looking to transform their existing garden into a tranquil space for clients to relax. Top priority was to have a feeling of escaping the city and the sound of water, which needed to be heard above the passing traffic as well as from inside the treatment rooms. The overall finished product was achieved by taking out all the existing plants and relocating them to other portions of the garden. A huge tree stump had to be removed (a challenge we had underestimated) and a hole needed to be dug, big enough to accommodate a 4 X 3 meter pond. The client was fortunate enough to have 2 existing water features that we were able to repair and incorporate into the area. We also managed to find enough beautiful rocks on the property to build the waterfall out of, thus saving the client a huge expense. We stocked the pond with 5 waterlilies, 10 Commet Gold Fish and a variety of marsh plants, creating a perfect balance for a self-maintaining eco-friendly pond. We later returned and landscaped the areas surrounding the pond to create the impression that this is an established garden/pond, and not a new installation.
